- Developed an Investment Credit Consulting Service that came to be used
by other CPA firms to help their clients maximize their return on investment
in plant and equipment. (1980)
- Provided emergency tax review services to a Dayton CPA firm whose senior
tax staff left the firm in January.
- Designed a complete accounting system for a new railroad company. That
system functioned as the heart of the accounting system for their holding
company and six subsidiaries until the day they were purchased by a larger
railroad.
- Assisted a national software vender in developing a system to utilize
new laser technology for the printing of tax returns.
- Became the first authorized reseller in Cincinnati for "NewViews"
accounting software, the first windows like accounting software for DOS
based personal computers. (1985)
- Appealed the firm’s first case before the U.S. Tax Court. (1986)
- Formalized our "Organization Review" process, which is still
unique in our industry.
- Reorganized our company to be more responsive to our client’s and
staff needs. Developed the vision and values that underpin the organization
and will guide it into the future.
- Fought the City of Cincinnati Tax Department's ruling on the taxation
of S Corporations before the Board of Appeals. Succeeded in changing the
way S corporations are taxed by the city.
- Incorporated Employee Benefit Options, Inc. to provide employee benefit
administration to small companies that could normally not afford such a
sophisticated plan.
- Selected by the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce to analyze the
financial statements of the nominees for the annual Small Business Person
of the Year Award.
- Selected by the Cincinnati Business Courier to co-sponsor their TAX FAX
service, which allows their subscribers to obtain articles on various tax
and financial issues by fax.
- Initiated the E-Myth coaching program, to train small business owners
in a systematic way so they can transform themselves into true entrepreneurs
Assisted in raising $700,000 to launch two small manufacturing companies.
- Assisted a client in negotiating the purchase of a major distributor.
Designed and installed accounting systems and helped organize a board of
advisors. Since 1996 they have quadrupled in size and now have over 100
employees.
- Successfully defended a client company in a multi million dollar tax audit.
